MDaaS Global Secures $3 Million to Revolutionize Healthcare in Nigeria

MDaaS Global, a leading Nigerian health tech company known for its network of technology-driven diagnostic centers, has successfully secured $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round. This investment is led by Aruwa Capital and Newton Partners, with additional follow-on capital from the Ventures Platform. This latest funding round brings the company’s total investment to $6.8 million, highlighting the growing confidence in its mission to enhance healthcare accessibility across Nigeria.

Established in 2017 by a visionary team including CEO Oluwasoga Oni, Opeyemi Ologun, Genevieve Oni, and Joseph McCord, MDaaS Global has been at the forefront of addressing critical healthcare gaps in Nigeria. The company’s innovative approach focuses on making diagnostic and preventive healthcare services accessible to a broader population, especially in regions where medical services are scarce.

The freshly acquired funds are earmarked to expand MDaaS Global’s healthcare network to all Nigerian states through a blend of company-owned and affiliate clinics. This expansion is in line with the company’s commitment to combating the prevalent issue in Nigeria and across Africa, where access to healthcare is limited, and disease prevention often takes a backseat to treatment, leading to late-stage detection of life-threatening conditions.

A significant portion of the investment will also support the launch of BeaconOS, MDaaS Global’s proprietary technology platform. BeaconOS was developed to enhance operational efficiency and patient care by providing real-time visibility into the operations of its diagnostic centers. The platform facilitates the management of patient visits and the seamless communication of clinical results, ensuring a streamlined healthcare delivery process.

MDaaS Global has made significant strides in the healthcare sector, with its network comprising 17 diagnostic centers across ten states. With plans to construct an additional 23 centers, the company is set to further its reach, providing essential diagnostic services such as digital X-rays, ultrasound, cardiac services, and various lab services to a broader demographic.

The company’s innovative SentinelX app, initially designed as a B2C product, has found success in the corporate sector. It offers businesses annual health screenings for employees. This pivot reflects MDaaS’s flexibility in addressing the market’s needs, emphasizing preventive care and early detection of diseases.

MDaaS Global’s achievements have not gone unnoticed. The company has served over 275,000 patients and conducted over 240,000 diagnostic tests in the past year alone. Its commitment to addressing non-communicable diseases and improving healthcare outcomes for Nigerians, especially women, has been a key factor in attracting this recent investment.

Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, founder and managing partner at Aruwa Capital, praised MDaaS Global’s efforts in revolutionizing healthcare delivery in Africa and its dedication to enhancing diagnostics for high-need patients. The investment is a testament to MDaaS Global’s potential and a step forward in bridging the healthcare gap in Nigeria and beyond.
